I've always wanted to try a flat thumb rest to reduce stress from using a thumb hook on my saxophone. The slot is 5mm which works on my yanagisawa and yamaha saxophones. I can't speak for any other horns.
I've included the fusion file and dxf for laser cutting. Print in PLA or really stiff material. PETG and ABS aren't stiff enough or cut it from acrylic/hardwood for a unique rest. This idea is not unique and I do not take credit. Derrick the Beatbox sax first inspired me to try and go without a thumb hook.
