2 winters ago I got the idea to make some cute eyes for when we build a snowman (instead of whatever rocks are lying around). The trick was to have the outer ring and pupils black, but connect everything with a white back-part that blends into and holds onto the snow. The result makes even a big snow ball look cute (photo). Last year I found a carrot from another model, printed it and the face was more or less complete…
How to get the “hidden” back-layer?
In the slicer, configure the first layers (before the connectors between outer ring and pupil start) in black. Then change color to white. Everything is flat, there is no need for MMU or multi-nozzle - 1 simple change by hand after a few minutes and all will be fine. And 2 eyes should easily fit on any build plate.
