The tray and lid are designed to slide together with all the manipulatives in the tray. A cutout is on the back so you can press the tray with your thumb to help eject the tray. I designed the lid to have enough flex in PLA to hold the tray solidly but still flex enough to allow the tray to slide out without snapping. I found it best to print all of the same number at once so the 1's are all the same colour, etc. When printing the tray, doing a filament change part way up helped the grid lines stand out more.
