This grommet design began as a solution to a rattling clutch release pull lever on my chipper/shredder (see photos).  I then needed a grommet of a different size for a yard gate, so I re-designed it to be fully parametric, and therefore adaptable to any size opening, material thickness, flange size etc…. I've since adjusted and re-printed this in TPU for the chipper/shredder and it works even better.  The parameters are still set for the chipper/shredder grommet, but can be easily adjusted in Fusion360 to meet your personal needs.  The split and V-slot can be eliminated (by suppressing the two extrudes in the timeline) for a pass through solution, or otherwise adjusted as needed.

This post only includes the Fusion360 archive file where parameters can be changed to meet your needs, or model alterations made if you would like to improve my design.  If you happen to need the specific grommet for the Troy Bilt 10HP chipper/shredder model 44321, I have that posted separately with .stl, .step, and gcode files ready for download.

I've included notes in the parameter table to help clarify things.  If you are new to Fusion360 parameters, I've included snips of how to find the table as well as the table itself.  You simply need to edit the “Expression” column and the model will adjust according to your changes.  If you are still unclear about what a parameter will change, you can simply watch what happens to the model when you change each parameter.  Once you are happy with the result, simply re-export your new .stl or (even better) .step file and pull it into your slicer of choice.

*Understanding how parameters can be used in 3d designs is well worth learning, and has the ability to completely change (for the better) how you design things.  I highly recommend it.
