This is a remix of the Raspberry PI 3B minimal case back. I had a few problems with the original design, so modified it for my needs:
- This model does not require supports to print.
This was accomplished by cutting the attachment hexagons so that the model lays flat. - There is only one frame attachment point (hexagon).
This makes it possible to place the case higher on the frame. The single attachment point is enough to securely attach it to the MK4 frame. The original design has two attachment hexagons which means it can only be attached in one location. - The screw hole is enlarged.
The screw hole now allows screwing the case to the frame from inside the case. I did this because when I tried attaching the original case to the frame, the screw holes didn't line up very well and had to be screwed in from the front of the frame. That caused the screw heads to interfere with the Z-axis. I used a spare M3x6 screw from my MK4S kit to attach the case to the frame.
NOTE: I modified the original STL in PrusaSlicer using negative volumes in the shape of a large M3 screw. However, PrusaSlicer returns a boolean operation error when I try to export the build plate. That's why I've included the 3mf file.
NOTE-2: The case top/cover of the original design did not provide enough clearance for my Raspberry PI 3B and I was not able to close the cover. I printed a remix of the case cover by @nmschulte which worked very well. (https://www.printables.com/model/687169-raspberry-pi-3b-minimal-case-for-mk4-with-connecto)
