On my Siren 17 sailboat I’ve replaced my original single-line furling drum with a continuous furler from SeaSure. That means I have to change the single-line furler fairleads over to a double. I didn't want to go to the semi-permanent removal of the single fairleads just yet, so I designed and printed a solution - a cap that secures over the single-line fairlead and makes out of it an open bottom double fairlead for easy line removal. See my short video here for an explanation and demonstration.

The cap has a main body and a base plate. They are designed to snap over the existing single fairlead and then a 7mm x 20mm stainless steel bolt and then locking nut are secured through the cap and the fairlead. The furling line should be placed into the assembly prior to bolting in the cap.

Both are printed from PLA at .20mm. The dimensions of the single fairlead that is being covered in this design is about 26 x 9 x 12mm. The fairlead channels will comfortably accommodate a line with a diameter of 6mm or less.
