The Dornier Do 29 was an experimental aircraft developed in West Germany during the 1950s to explore new possibilities for short takeoff and landing (STOL) capabilities. It was designed as a light utility aircraft with two Lycoming engines mounted on tiltable propellers that could pivot up to 90 degrees. This unique feature allowed the Do 29 to generate additional lift by directing thrust downward, making it ideal for operations on short or rugged airstrips. Only a few prototypes were built, and while it never went into mass production, the Do 29 contributed valuable insights into STOL technology and influenced later VTOL and STOL aircraft designs.

Printing Info

The set models come with two sets of engines and props, in VTOL and in horizontal flight configuration. You can also print all parts seperatly. Happy printing!

Building Info

Be careful when attaching the landing gear. Bend the middle part carefully back by 45° and insert it. Also be careful when inserting the gear covers, it might be a bit fiddly.
