Bought a star tracking mount for doing astrophotography for doing long exposures to prevent/eliminate star trails. I very quickly lost the lens on the polar scope illuminator that reflects a small red led onto the reticle/crosshairs on the polar scope to align it with the north star [Polaris] (if in the northern hemisphere).

A simple ring printed in glow in the dark filament, charged with a UV pen light(395nm) works just fine and glows long enough to make necessary alignments/adjustments, no leds or battery powered shenanigans.

Also designed a tapered dust cap that will fit into the ring with forgiveness to varying tolerances in the I.D. of the ring, as the manufacturers dust cap will no longer fit, while allowing to keep the illuminator ring to stay in the scope.(Which I intentionally made a tight fit into the scope)

I played around and added a pause in the print to add black filament as I noticed that with the entire piece being illuminated/glowing that it would actually flood the scope with too much light and could actually wash out the reticle/crosshair/polar clock making it hard too see.

See which combination works best for you.
