Printing Overview

The design consists of two parts:

NFC_logo_p1 - the NFC logo
NFC_logo_p2 - the main keychain body with holes for both the keychain ring and NFC tag

To assemble this correctly, start by printing NFC_logo_p1, followed by NFC_logo_p2. You’ll need to pause the print on layer 11 of NFC_logo_p2 to insert the NFC tag.

Step-by-Step Printing Instructions

Load the Files

Open NFC_logo_p1 in your slicer (I use PrusaSlicer).
Right-click on the NFC logo, select Add Part, and then load NFC_logo_p2.
This will merge both parts into one.

Position Adjustment

Move the merged part slightly away from the center. This prevents the printer from hitting the first part when it auto-homes before starting the second print.

Separate the Parts

Select and delete NFC_logo_p2 so that only NFC_logo_p1 remains.
Go to Skirt and Brim settings and set the Loops (minimum) to 0 to remove the skirt.
Slice and save the G-code file for NFC_logo_p1.

Re-Add Part 2

Use Ctrl+Z twice to bring NFC_logo_p2 back.
Delete NFC_logo_p1 so that only NFC_logo_p2 remains.
Slice NFC_logo_p2, but first ensure that supports are disabled to avoid any print errors.

XY Size Compensation

Go to Print Settings > Advanced tab, and adjust XY Size Compensation to a value appropriate for your printer (I use -0.1mm for my setup).

Layer Pause for NFC Tag

In Plater on the preview tab, locate the height for layer 11, where you’ll need to pause to insert the NFC tag.

Right-click the “+” sign and select Color Change for this pause. This is the only option that works reliably on my Ender 3 S1 Pro, as Pause at Height keeps the nozzle directly over the print. Use Pause at Height if it works for your printer.

Save the Final G-code

Slice the model again and save the G-code file for NFC_logo_p2.

Additional Tips

Make sure supports are disabled for NFC_logo_p2 to avoid any potential errors.

Choose filament settings that suit your printer, including temperature and flow rate.

I noticed that they are not working with iPhones

I use this app to write the NFC tags:
