This is the tool that you didn't know you needed, and as such it makes a great gift. An improvement on the age old yard stick used for retrieving screws, balls, toys, coins or anything else that has fallen under a piece of furniture or appliance. This device
This rake head can be attached to an extendable handle with a terminating outside diameter of 9mm (the recommended handle is 30 inches. The addition of a 8x2mm (or 2- 8x1mm stacked) rare earth magnet to the tool tip allows for the retrieval of small ferrous objects as well.
The handle that I used came from a set of giant bubble wands with telescopic handles. While a set of 4 costs ~$20USD, this allows you to make 8 of these tools. I would actually recommend leaving one of the wands intact if you have kids or just like bubbles. As for the remaining handles, I would just make a batch of these and give them out to people that appreciate useful tools.
This was originally conceived of to aid in the retrieval of coins that often fall from the reject tray of CoinStar machines and roll under it. Hey, free coins! Shout out to the good people at https://www.reddit.com/r/CoinstarFinds/ Sometimes coins become stuck to the ground under these machines, so I have included a version that includes a rear facing wedge for popping up such coins. Most people will want to print the standard version.
