One day, while cleaning my office, I was trying to figure out what to do with my extra Kyberlight accessories. It felt like a shame to just keep them stowed away somewhere. Maybe I could find a fun way to display them.

Then it hit me—why not build more lightsabers with them? The problem is, Kyberlight cores aren’t exactly cheap, and I don’t have the budget to buy enough of them to use up all my accessories. But I do have a 3D printer—and some empty wall space. So I came up with a fun idea: 3D print some dummy Kyberlight cores (no electronics) for display.

This design is a replica of the Kyberlight V10 core. Since it’s too tall to print upright on my MK4S, I’ve included a couple of options for printing it in two parts—one with snap connectors and one with a dovetail joint. Either works great for display purposes. For a cleaner and stronger core, I’d recommend using a bit of superglue. The dovetail version was easier to create in OpenSCAD, though it's not quite as clean-looking—something to keep in mind if your sleeve doesn’t cover the joint.

Both versions print well on a smooth build plate and don’t require any supports.

Since the accessories don’t come with extra hardware, you’ll need some M4 screws. I like to use M4 thumb screws for quicker blade swaps.

I’m also including the OpenSCAD file so you can easily tweak the design. (Tip: The stable OpenSCAD release is over three years old—download the developers snapshot for faster rendering!)
