When using the MMU3 I have had prints fail because a filament unloads and protrudes from the edges of the buffer and then another protruding filament catches on the other filament snapping the filament (see photo). This mainly occurs when you get down to the end of a spool of filament and the filament has a tight coil and springs out the side of the buffer. This extension takes care of that and snaps in place where the original buffer edge pieces are held.
To assemble:
- Get two M3x65mm bolts and M3 nuts
- Stack pieces in order:
- Bolt stl
- End stl
- 3 x Middle stls
- Single stl
- End stl
- Bolt stl
- Run bolt through each side and tighten nut
You will need supports for the ends of the End and Middle stls.
