Introduction

Hi! There are a lot of gingerbread man cookie cutters out there, but this one features a custom made tesselating pattern. This means that you can cut the entire slab of dough with very little waste, greatly reducing the time and effort required to cut all of the dough into cookies.

I made it after seeing an art piece that featured a tesselating pattern of people with pointy hats, and I thought it could be applied to a cookie cutter . Recreating the shape to match the proportions and feel of a gingerbread man took quite a bit of tinkering however.  You can follow the whole journey it took to create the pattern and make the cookie cutter at:

It even has a gingerbread cookie recipe you can use to try out your brand new cookie cutter!

Printing Instructions.

I suggest printing it in PETg with 6 perimetres instead of the usual 2. This allows the reinforcement section to be built entirely out of perimetres, leading to a smoother printing process.

The project file also blocks the seam in corners to avoid gaps in hard-to-clean places.

Also, let the printbed cool slightly before detaching your print. It releases more easily that way, without having to bend the sheet that much, which could put undue stress in the model and cause delamination.

Have fun making your own little army of gingerbread men and happy printing!
