Requirements:

1 x Arduino Pro Micro
1 x board cable with data wires (see below)
6 x M3x16 countersunk screws (can also be M3x12 or M3x18)
9 x mechanical switches
9 x diodes
Soldering iron
1 x mini breadboard (somewhat optional)
Hot glue or duct tape

Make sure that your Arduino board USB cable has data wires, otherwise your board cannot communicate with the computer. Some cables come with only the power wires and no data ones.

The mini breadboard is optional, I used one because I forgot to add a mount for the Arduino, so I just placed it on the breadboard and hot glued it to the body of the macropad. Follow the guide below to see how to wire your switches and as to why the diodes are important. The codebase for the board is uploaded down on the files page.
