My thought process was to create a historic memorial for the reconstruction era, post-Civil War.

The first thing I had to do was scale the handshake model MUCH smaller, which I used Tinkercad to accomplish.

I then cut a hold in the hand in a square shape, cutting into the bottom.

For the base, I started with a hat-looking extrusion, making sure to keep good sizing so it can stand up.

I added fillets to give it less angular and more curve.

I cut the designs into the shape, ‘UNITY’ and 13, 14, 15, to lead for the 13th, 14th, and 15th amendments that were put into place.

I cut the peg hole into the base, to use for attaching the handshake to the base.

The last thing to do was to print them and attach them, which is just Base + Peg + Handshake, and to line it up as wanted.
