I use JDJDJD's excellent Smoothy Y-splitter for Bambu's AMS on my P1S and tuned it for my newly arrived K2 Plus.
Much of the instructions are provided by him, with thanks.
You will need 3 x PC4-M10 ‘black’ connectors which screw into the splitter. Black ones are required to allow the PTFE tubes to pass through. They are readily available on Amazon, but if you cant get them, JD has a version for PC4-M6.
Screw, but do not over-tighten, the connectors into the splitter.
If you are comforable, snip the original PTFE tube between the output of the CFS and the input to the printer - leave about 40-50mm into the printer. If you are not comfortable using the original PTFE, use some spare.
Depress the black ring of the connector and insert the PTFE tube to the printer at the single end. Insert the other tube still connected to the output of the CFS into the ‘bottom’ connector of the splitter. Insert some new PTFE tubing into the ‘top’ of the splitter, with length appropriate to where your external spool is. Push all tubes firmly as far as they will go.
Thats it! Now you can simply use external spools without having to remove PTFE tubes. Remember to retract either the CFS filament or external filament when swapping!
My model uses high quality settings (0.12mm layer etc) but you can change the layer height up to 0.2 for reduced time (about 50%)
Print vertically, no supports.
I have my external spool mounted on a pegboard rather than the side of the printer.
