History of the lighthouse.
The Brandaris on the west corner of Terschelling is the best known and oldest surviving lighthouse in the Netherlands.
The designer/Contractor was Pieter Albertsz. Clock, from Medemblik
The 53.7 meter high tower originally dates from 1594 and has square model and is build from brick.
I build this model after a reguest if I could make this lighthouse and so here it is.
Al parts are printed in PETG but PLA is also fine (just don't place the model in the sun).
Printer settings:
- 0.15mm Layer for all parts of the tower (01-08)
- 0.2mm for the Base parts (00a-00c)
- nozzle 0.4mm
- support only for battery lid and base 00a
- brim innerbrim om bulbhouse (05) and bulbroof (7)
- brim outerbrim on radar (08) print upside down
Options:
- If you build the tower without light;
. Print the parts 01-08 and glue the together,
. Print part 00a if you like to raise the model by placing it on a pedestal.
- Build the tower with the working light;
. Print all parts,
. Fist glue together part 01-04 and part 05, 07 (place a piece of silverfoil between them to prevent light shinging thru the roof) and 08,
. Don't glue part 06 on part 05 it have a snug fit, place Led (wires already soldered on) and place the glued parts 05-08 over part 6,
glue after testing the light no before!
. Place the battery sheets in part 00b and solder the wires and glue part 00b on part 00a.
. Glue or (stick with double sided tape) the PCB on part 00a, solder all wires.
. Place the tower on the base and glue them together.
. Last place batteries and secure lid (part 00c) with 3mm screw.
I used the following filament colors:
- Beige for the tower
- Grey for the edges of each section of the tower (colorchange)
- Grey for part 03
- White for part 04, 06 and 08
- Transparent for part 05
- Dark red for part 07
- Grey for the parts 00a,b,c
Hardware for the lighting option:
- Print board
- Dip-8 socket
- IC Attiny 13A, 45 or 85 (all will work)
- Resistor 33 Ohm (use a greater value if you would like to dim the led)
- Mini slide switch
- Battery contact sheets (removed from old 3 AA battery case)
- White led 5mm
- 40 cm of red and black wire
- M3 screw 6mm (for securing battery lid)
