You can never have enough pieces when it comes you building toys. The only issue is when they stopped making new ones decades ago. This project aims to recreate a printable medium beam that functions as close to the original part as possible. This is not a scan, this is a complete remodel from scratch. The main noticeable change (pictured) is a more aggressive grip on the knot attachment to account for using a different plastic.

The image shown is two PLA+ prints (red and black) with the original gray part in the middle (for comparison) Strength wise, the Kretrum Rapid PLA+ I used still seems to perform awesome. Clearly this replica of a part originally designed to be injection molded in ABS. I would avoid PETG entirely because of the flex.

I print these flat on their ‘backs’ on a smooth PEI plate, but texture would have no impact on their functionality.

Stock Disclaimer: This whole print is, by definition a small part and should be kept out of reach of children that could choke on the parts. This is for big kids to play with. Use common sense with how and where you use it.
