NOTE:
Choose the appropriate materials if you're printing this for appliances/devices that generate heat while drawing power! PLA might start to deform!
This is my own design for a power outlet socket + cover window for EU plugs.
I've made this design because I did not like the ones available online for either looks or the price.
The main benefit of a 3D printed socket is that you can print it in any color you like, completely blending it in with your wall! Or make it stand out by printing it in a contrasting color!
Bored of the same-old cover windows? Profile the edge with a fancy design, emboss text to organize plugs or print in multiple colors!
Wall socket print settings:
- various colors of PLA/PETG/ABS
- 0.2mm layer height
- 2 perimeters
- 2 bottom layers
- 2 top layers
- print time: 1h 45 minutes.

- I've added paint-on supports for the inside of the socket (excluding the screw recession)

- Print face down to ensure a nice surface finish for visible parts.

- Use organic supports as they are easily removable!
Cover window print settings:
- various colors of PLA/PETG/ABS
- 0.2mm layer height
- 2 perimeters
- 2 bottom layers
- 2 top layers
- print time: 4h 45 minutes

- Use smart fill paint on supports for the socket meeting interface and print face-down for consistent surface finish with the sockets.

- Use organic supports for easily removable and consistent supports. Support interface layer will not be visible after assembly!
If you have any questions let me know :)
Happy printing!
