This build is yet another Mak-Cass based on the very popular optics sold by Surplus Shed from time to time:

There are several excellent spins on this project, like this and this and this, and the project in general is discussed in a great amount of detail here. The optics are ostensibly 76mm, but most designs stop it down to 72mm, which is what I am electing to do. But the major reason I am doing this, and documenting it, is to make it fit into one of those scotch bottle tubes that, for some curious reason, I seem to have on hand more and more.
