Soap Mold - Smiley

A Soap Mold with a Smiley Face Inset designed for the home soap maker to mold a bar of soap featuring a smiley face.

The mold can be easily 3D printed, without any support, on a modern inexpensive 3D Printer. It can be printed with a variety of heat tolerant materials, including PETG, ABS, ASA and many other types of printable materials that can sustain higher temperatures. When printed according to the instructions below, the object should be durable, easy to maintain, and last for a long time.

PLA is not suitable for this application because the object will be exposed to high temperatures exceeding ~55 C (~ 130 F) when pouring hot soap mixture into the mold .

Printing Details

Recommended print settings with a .4 mm nozzle

- Layer Hight: .150 ~.160 mm, depending on motors and gearing

- 3 perimeters or shells (1.2 ~ 1.5 mm)

- 8 ~ 9 bottom layers (1.2 ~ 1.44 mm)

- 8 ~ 9 top layers (1.2 ~ 1.44 mm)

- Infill 15%~20%, depending on infill type

Printing time: 6h20m

Material: ~ 54 grams

Dimensions: 98 x 63 x 36 mm
