I needed some dice as replacement for the game “king of the dice”, which are multicolored so I decided to print them by myself. After not finding the perfect solution I created this as my first “real” own project in tinkercad.
The body is printed with the eyes and the inlays can be printed in the wished color. The inlays are a bit smaller to guarantee a nice easy fit when glue them to the body. Also I think it is best to print the body on the 6-eyed-side to have the least overhang. Since there was always a bit of overhang in my test prints I set different heights for the inlays. My best results (it is already like this in the attached stl file) I got with following heights/settings:
1-Side : 0.8mm
2-5 -Side : 0.6mm
6-Side : 0.5mm
Infill: 50%
No Support
No Raft
0.2 Noozle with 0.1 layer height (but 0.4 with 0.12 lh wasn't much different)
Also I printed on a A1 Mini with a smooth plate
I know it wouldn't be viable in a casino, but we played a lot of games with these dice and it really worked out very well.
