Hardware requirements:

  • 2x 40*10 24v Fans
  • 4x m3*20 screws (no nut, they are resistance fitted)
  • Soldering iron
  • Heatshrink (recommended to prevent short circuits)
  • printed 3d model

You will have to mod the fans adapter to fit the 3d printer, you will cut the wire from the original fans half way. Next you can cut the wire of your replacement fans also halfway. Find the positive and negative cables (for me using these fans: https://amazon.nl/Noctua-NF-A4x10-24V-PWM-Toepassingen/dp/B0CN39MCPL/?tag=nlshogostdde-21&hvadid=710039676610&hvpos=&hvnetw=g&hvrand=8828827948808918764&hvpone=&hvptwo=&hvqmt=&hvdev=c&hvdvcmdl=&hvlocint=&hvlocphy=9064517&hvtargid=pla-2270271982920 Those where the yellow and black cables respectively). Now slide a piece of heatshrink over the positive wire of your new fan and solder the positive wire of your new fan to the positive wire of you connector (that you cut form the original fan. Repeat this process for the negative cables. Do this for both fans. Now you can screw the fans into their place on the printed model using m3*20 screws.
Lastly just screw the print head in place (using the original screws) and connect the connectors.

The model show in the image is a objective model fan test made by TeachingTech full credits go to them for this model. You can look at the images on his model page to see average results with a normal ender 3 (https://www.printables.com/model/180150-cooling-fan-test-torture-test). I printed this model using Creality Hyper Carbon infused PLA

*V4 increases the airflow but had a slightly different shape
