Leucite is a rock-forming mineral composed of potassium and aluminium tectosilicate. Formula  K[AlSi2O6]. The name from the Greek "leucos," for white, in allusion to its common colour. Crystals have the form of cubic icositetrahedra but, as first observed by Sir David Brewster in 1821, they are not optically isotropic, and are therefore pseudo-cubic. The crystals have many colours - white, ash-grey, transparent. The localities in Czech Republic: Loučná in Krušné hory. The localities in the world: Mount Vesuvius in Italy, Arkansas in USA, Kaiserstuhl in Germany.
