It can be a pain for a game master to track monster stats when they have more than a few miniatures on the table - making sure they know which one has moved, how many hit points each has remaining, which one has the fancy sword, etc. - especially when they have a mob of the same creatures.
These individually numbered bases fit your standard round-based minis - small/medium creatures with 1" (25mm) bases, large creatures with 2" (50mm). Minis just slip in right under the numbered corner overhang.
I like the idea of the various condition tracking rings out there, but I don't like how they essentially increase the diameter of your mini's base - making it hang halfway across all immediate surrounding squares. I considered using the colored type that are basically snug caps that go under your bases, but I didn't want the hassle of putting them on and taking them off. Plus, I find numbers easier to quickly correlate to my notes than I do colors.
I liked the idea of the NPC initiative tracker by LordOgreCorsair, but I wanted the entire thing to fit fully within the typical one inch grid. I modeled some from scratch and made them so that the numbered corner section doesn't hang outside of the perimeter of the square but was still large enough to include numbers and have a domed undercut for the lip of the miniature's base to slip under.
