This jig helps positioning 5mm holes for shelf pins in a 32mm cabinet. The distance between hole center and jig side is the european standard of 37mm. So the jig can be used two ways :

  • For initial drilling, lay the flat face against the cabinet side, line up the front of the cabinet with the jig side, and pinpoint (or drill) the first two holes. Then :
  • Insert the jig pins into two existing 5mm holes, then pinpoint (or drill) the next holes.

A few remarks :

  • I prefer using the jig to pinpoint the holes with the drill bit, then remove the jig and drill freeehand or preferably with a drilling guide. this prevents drilling into the sides of the holes and losing accuracy quickly
  • The size of the jig is a compromise between drilling enough holes at a time and fitting in low-profile cabinets. Don't hesitate to ask for other dimensions
  • Don't forget to use a stop collar when you drill cabinet sides ! You've been warned ! The jig is 10mm deep.
  • The 3mf includes modifiers to print the 10mm cylinders around the holes and pins solid (all walls).
