Every now and then, filament in my MMU3 buffer would pop out from the top instead of using the whole buffer width. When that happens, there's a chance it might tangle with another filament on the buffer that is having the same issue, and it actually has happened a few times already (see picture), ruining the print.
I've modified the original buffer plate holder and made it so that it covers the whole top part of it, thus forcing the filament to use the buffer in its entire width.
