Having a drill bit that was 13 spaces long and a printer that could only accommodate six, I designed a solution that would allow for storage while still leveraging the extensibility of Gridfinity.
I quickly realized this could be used for not just something extending past the size my printer could allow, but almost any atypical shape with some additional pieces.
So was born this set of dynamic walls for Gridfinity. These allow for you to create any container shape, allowing for Gridfinity bins without extensive design considerations.
Some notes: While these wall prescribe the the Gridfinity design specs, they will not support weight like a typical Gridfinity box (since they are missing walls), see below.
Instead, ensure supporting structures are present if one wants to put another layer on top.
