A friend who I sail with has a lot of whipping twine, and the spools take up a lot of space in his rigging bag. He showed me a fancy rigging kit that included some compact spools, and I thought that I could do better.

This spool is designed to hold any medium-heavy string (whipping twine, heavy braided fishing line, etc) in a compact fashion. To spool your twine onto it, tie one end through the small hole. To go fast and not introduce twists, chuck a ¼" hex into an electric screwdriver, and use that to spin the spool via the hex cutout. The two notches on the sides should hold the end of the twine for you.

This is revision 2, it should easily hold 60+ meters of twine securely, yet is quite small. It has an internal reinforcement so that then end of the hex socket isn't super-weak. I reccomend printing in PLA, no supports required.
