I made these little spools to get rid of the measurement leads where are always hanging over the bench when not in use. The design was inspired by the garden hose holders.

Mounting:

You can fix them directly on a surface or with the distance piece. Those were made to fit on a 20x20mm aluminum slot profile. Anyway, you can fix it on a wall through the central hole with a screw.

Post Print:

For easy and support less printing, the spool is split into two parts that have to be glued with superglue or other which gets in the gap.

The two holes on top of the distance piece had to be tapped with a 4 mm bit. The upper holes are larger, so you can insert conventional taps where commonly larger on the neck than the cut diameter.

Because the screws stay in place, I decided for a thread in the print and made not use of an insert.
