Inspired by the great BentoBox V2.0, I set out to design the biggest HEPA and activated carbon air filter that you could reasonably fit in a Bambu X1 or P1-series printers.

I'm calling this a “beta” only because this is the first time I've released the design into the wild.  I have been using one in my X1 for ~4 months now, running dozens of rolls of filament for production parts, including smelly stuff like ASA.

Notable features of the 'Zilla, as compared to the BentoBox V2.0:

  • Taller structure with strategically-placed intake draws air from above the print bed, targeting the source of harmful odors and particulates.

  • Double, parallel flow HEPA filters for more airflow and filtration.

  • Significantly larger airflow path.  For example, the Carbon Mag cross sectional area is more than 30% larger.

  • Revised fan mounting (in an effort to create a better seal/more vacuum).

  • larger magnets with ~50% stronger hold.

  • More rigid mounting geometry for the X1/P1 enclosure floor.
