Recently had a vinyl fence installed in the back yard.  To make things a little more fancy I installed lights on each fence post.  To unify the look I installed lights on the neighbor's side of the fence. Their installer bonded the ring that connects the post cap to post itself.  It could not be removed nondestructively.  I ordered some white PVC filament, designed this adapter to go from the ring to a size the solar lights could accept.  This is a 5"x5" post light that can be adapted down to a smaller post size with the included adapters.  In my case it wouldn't fit the larger post ring.  Looking at the photos included will help explain the situation.

While I've had no issue with these particular lights I'm not including the link as a recommendation.  The link is included only to give an example of the light used.

The model includes a tab on two sides which should line up exactly with the holes where screws would be placed.  Using this adapter there should be no need to use screws on the light provided the connection to the post is secure.
