Introduction

Hey,

this is the first public model of the quad-person fixed grip chairlift model. I made this because of my love for all types of aerial lifts in general.

I've spend over 2 years designing my own, fully functioning chairlift completely from scratch and I'm happy to share with you all!

Disclaimer: Before I will be able to release the English build guide for this chairlift, it will require some basic knowledge of chairlifts and quite a bit of logic to put this together.

If anyone is more curious, I made a paper (in Czech) about this model, which you can access here:

Print & processing tips

Printing

All of the pieces that are printable are made in such a way, that should allow for relatively easy printing without unusual base angles and such. Normal rules for printing mechanical components should apply.

There are a few special cases where some setting must be tweaked to achieve ideal strength. Always mentioned in the temporary assembly notes for each category

  • Grip - 0,4 mm nozzle, 0,2 mm layer height. ONLY PRINT IN ORIGINAL ORIENTATION!

Post-processing

Most holes will require drilling through with a standard bit. This will usually be 3,0 mm drill bit.

If a part requires other operation, it will likely be specified in the part name itself or the (probably) soon-to-come build guide.

Building

This project requires a large quantity of M3 countersunk screws.

Ideally you would have on hand:

  • Standard 3,0 mm drill bit
  • 3,0 mm reamer (technically not needed)
  • M3 thread tap

Required lengths (NOT ALL ARE USED EQUALLY AS MUCH).

  • 6, 8, 10, 12, 16, 20 mm.

Also required are 16 bearings 623, do not use rubber sealed bearing.

As for sheave axles, bearing needles are used.

  • diameter of bearing needles: 3 mm.
  • length - 13,8+-1 mm.

The motor used is JGA25-370 geared to 12 RPM. It should ideally include a rotary encoder for speed information.

Electronics and controls

First of all, I am a mechanical, not electrical engineer. The boards linked below were made by my dad who knows electronics much better than I do.

I know it needs ESP-32 board to function, however I don't really know much more about this. This is the only category in which I can't really help anyone diagnose issues.

Thanks!

Thank you for reading, downloading or otherwise interacting with this project. Any ideas for improvements, tips and/or other interactions are welcome!

If in need of extra information, write a comment, I'll try and read and reply to them.

I hope that if you managed to go through and build the chairlift yourself, that you will have fun playing with it (at least as much as I did)!

Thanks again, Andrew.
