bellows for the lagom mini 2 by option-o

pushes air through the grinder chamber to reduce/eliminate the retention in the chamber after grinding

my setup

fdm printer: creality k1c with 0.4 mm nozzle
build plate: pei “b” plate by creality (ensure the nozzle is not too close to the build plate otherwise over-adhesion may occur)
filament: esun elastic (tpe-83a) white

grinder: lagom mini 2, silver (usb c, mizen 48mm burrs)

recommended print settings

layer height: 0.2 mm
line width: 0.42 mm

top & bottom surface pattern (optional): concentric
sparse infill density: 100%

print upside down! no supports required :)

usage

to install

  • remove the magnetic cap
  • place the bellows (long tube side down) inside the adjustment dial
  • replace the magnetic cap on top of the bellows.
  • done! :))

usage recommendation

  • dose beans into a seperate container
  • spray beans with a mist of water (rdt)
  • remove the magnetic cap
  • turn the grinder on (hot start)
  • pour beans into bellows top & the grinder
  • replace the magnetic cap
  • rotate bellows a small amount (10 degrees should suffice)
*only necessary if beans are stuck on the popcorn stopper
  • once grinding noises quieten down, press on the bellows multiple times (while the grinder is still running)
  • ???
  • zero retention achieved!

notes

im not experienced with flexible filaments so i printed real slow, taking just over an hour on the creality k1c

first time uploading and new to cad! freecad files are also available - please let me know what i could have done better :))

updates (not that anyone's looking)

  • initial release: it works!
  • update 1: increased depth into adjustment dial for stability
  • update 2: decreased thickness of bellows for ease of use, made thickness easily changeable in the freecad file varset “bellows-var”
