Multiple designs are available for the production of heat set insert presses, a tool to apply brass threads to thermoplastics. Such device is especially handy for producing homemade 3D printers such as Prusa or Voron. However, the majority of available models require extra metal parts such as linear rails or V-slot wheels, which are inconvenient to acquire if not expensive. This design is made entirely out of 3D printed parts, unless one wants to be fancy and use rubber bands for the mechanism to return to its original position. After all, one-handed accessibility is one of the new goals for modern designs.

This work is in-progress. The hinges are connected with 1.75mm filaments. Print-in-place design is being considered, however, it requires community feedback on clearance and flexibility of various PLA brands/conditions.
