Johannes Kepler (1571-1630) was
German astronomer and astrologer.
In 1609 he described a basic star polyhedron, which he called stella octangula, which in Latin means “eight-pointed star”. I created it in Sketch Up. Kepler is best known for discovering that the planets move not in circles but in ellipses. He was also the inventor of the telescope and was the first to introduce the comma in the decimal notation.
