Main issue with the ChuckIt! grip on SOME models is that they are slippery, have no finger grooves, and taper upward instead of downward. I feel like I have to really grip hard to hold on firmly when I use it. And a firmer grip increases my chance of aggravating a Tennis Elbow injury. This little improvement allows me to grip it lightly while still giving a good “chuck”!

The part's opening is exactly shaped to size, but requires a manual heated fitting. Steps:

  1. Print it and ensure that it slides onto the handle base
  2. Heat it to 90ºC (for PLA; higher temps for other materials). One way to do this is to set your printer's heat bed to preheat to 90C, place your part on it, cover, and allow it to warm up for about 5 minutes. Alternatively, you can dip it in simmering water.  When the PLA is warm, it will be soft and pliable.
  3. Quickly: while the component is warm, apply it to the Chuckit base, hold it firmly with one hand, and squeeze on with the other hand. 90C PLA is not too hot to touch but it may be most comfortable to wera a glove.
  4. Hold for about 15 seconds as it cools and hardens into shape.
