UPDATE Febr' 26

As I stated earlier on, I had reverse-engeneered the design of this device, invented by the people of ArcheryLab.
I had tried to contact them but when this did not work, I published my files here.
I wanted to help other archers.

The people of ArcheryLab recently contacted me and we had some respectfull communication regarding the jig and the jig-files.

Out of respect for all their nice work, and as I certainly do not want them to lose money of business, I will no longer publish the files of my jig.

Anyone who is still interested in this jig: you can always try to contact me here, but please try out the people of https://archerylab.shop/shop/ first.

*********

TLDR: Spin-wing-type vanes-jig.

Enables mounting of spinwing-type vanes in a controlled and consistent way, thus making mounting these vanes more precise.
(however, and experienced archer will also do an excellent job, doing this manually!)

ADDED:

  • easy to change the slider bar to the other side when switching from left- to rightsided vanes by dissasembling and re-assembling one side of the tool.

  • a scale to indicate the level of the arrow: when the arrow is centered over the 0-mark, the arrow is level and thus the vane, spinwing is mounted “dead straight”.
When using the 1- or 2-mark, an 1° or 2° deviation is added, thus increasing the angle of attack of the vanes, … again in a controled way.

Hello all

First of all, this jig is not my idea!
I saw this design called TheWingThing from an Australian company

As I live in Europe it would have become not acceptable to order one from the other side of the world. Having a little tool transported over half of the world is not especially environment-friendly. Also not to mention the costs for shipping and custom charges.

So FIRST! I reached out to the people of TheWingThing and asked where I could buy this tool locally. As I did not receive any response, I also contacted a shop who sold the device.
I never had or found a response on these messages and emails.
So I ended up designing a copy for myselve.

I designed it to be 95% 3D-printed. I just also used some insert-threads for mounting and you need some nuts and bolts.

All I did was study and then reverse-engeneered from some pictures, designed, printed, prototyped, tested, …. and after about 7 different prototypes came to this.

I'm sure my design is not perfect yet and might be updated in the future.

As I do NOT want to be sneaky about it, I made it very clear by using the name WingThingCopy for my tool.
All credits to the original designers for their idea.
If they might have a problem with this design, please, contact me.
I tried more then once but found no answer.
