It is designed to be a perfect fit without the filthy gap underneath in the edges (dead room).
The funnel is big enough for easy fill in and can hold ~25g.
Removing the insert doubles the space for beans.
The plunger goes ontop the beans.
It will limit the space in the funnel for the beans to the bare minimum.
The plunger is designed to guide the beans, not to push them into the grinder.
You can spin the plunger to get the last bean into the grind.
