Tactile objects are recommended as distress tolerance tools. I think this kind of thing falls in the general category of being a pain stimulus.
I printed a “little ouchie” style fidget but found the spikes on the outside made it annoying to carry in my pocket, so I designed this version that's easier to carry and hold inconspicuously.
