This riser or low profile extended top for the Centauri Carbon is designed to match the outer perimeter of the machine unlike all the existing variations I found that sit inside the top glass recessed area and give a chimney effect. Just wanted something a bit different and more streamlined to the printer body, but hats off to all the original creators for the great idea. The purpose of this part/upgrade is to give an area to mount an LED strip at the top facing down into the chamber to improve lighting.
Features:
- 57 degree angled surface inside to mount LED strip, 3/8" wide surface
- LED strip cable exit located on corner with filament sensor
- ~¾" overall height
- Easy assembly with dog bone joints/connectors
- Slightly larger recessed area for factory top glass panel
You will need:
- x1 - CC Riser_Front
- x1 - CC Riser_Back
- x2 - CC Riser_Side
- x1 - CC Riser_Back Left
- x1 - CC Riser_Back Right
- x1 - CC Riser_Front Left
- x1 - CC Riser_Front Right
- x8 - CC Riser_Connector
- (optional) x1 - CC Riser_Elegoo Symbol
- (optional) - 1mm thick adhesive backed foam or rubber for top glass to sit on
Printing tips - For optimal assembly you want the joints (or recessed area for top glass) printed facing up on all the parts with support material underneath. This allows the joints to print at the intended shape for the connectors to fit in as designed. I split this model so everything can be printed on the Centauri Carbon, but I also included a full .stp file for large format printers. On the Centauri Carbon I printed with Grid style supports with 0.2mm Top Z distance and the supports popped right off. Example in images is printed in Elegoo Matte Black PLA. I printed the (8) frame pieces individually to help prevent warping with a long multi part print time. I also added 1mm thick adhesive backed foam on top for the factory glass panel to sit on.
