Complete redesign including new cartridge inserts, a quick detach disc that can be partially rotated to keep cases from coming out when being removed.

  • M4 and spring form an axle to keep the tube holder and disc together while allowing rotation.
  • Magnets press in - make sure the polarities match
  • Cartridge inserts slide in from the top - no locking hardware required. You may need to clean up the hole in the base piece if they are difficult to slide in.
  • Depending on your printer tuning, the alignment lugs may need sanding/filing/scraping - they should be a tight sliding fit - but they will wear in.

I find that, with the cutouts, the 44SPCL and 38SPCL inserts work just fine for 44Mag and 357Mag. The 9x19 insert is a close fit (otherwise there are a LOT of mis-feeds) - so really mangled brass is likely to jam (this is more or less true for rimless straight walled cases, just especially 9x19).

Setup/calibration:

Using bolt and nuts, do a rough install as per the factory piece. Pick a cartridge and install the appropriate insert.  Bring the feeder carriage back into the load position and drop a case into the feed.  Adjust the height of the base piece using the nuts so that the mouth of the case clears the bottom of the cartridge insert by 2-4mm.  Tighten everything down.  All of the inserts are designed with relative dimensions for each case - meaning that you should only need to calibrate the base position once and then all of the inserts should fit correctly.  You may need to adjust the rotation of the base piece to get it to drop in exactly the right location.

Hardware:

  • 4x 10x3 neodymium magnets
  • 1x M4x30 SHCS
  • 1x M4 nyloc
  • 1x 6-7mm OD x 25-30mm spring

Feel free to drop a comment if there are other cartridges you would like an insert for.
