Update

Versions - “No Magnet - 10mm magnet - 10mm magnet Version 2 - 12mm magnet”

Holds the heat block in position vertically and horizontally - files (four versions) can be modified to allow for varying magnet sizes.  Small magnets may not be effective in stabilizing the nozzle change tool on the cross bar, 10mm V2 version offers the strongest cross bar stabilization.

Creating sized holes is a feature in PrusaSlicer

Printing

PETG but PLA should be fine, no supports required using “0.15mm Structural” print setting - (gcode supplied for printing with your Core One).  Check photo for print bed orientation -  strong part is required, minimum three perimeters and 30% infill.

Design requires - 12mm x 3mm or 10mm x 3mm magnets - the magnet on the top plate helps stabilize the tool on the cross bar - the outside magnet holds the tool on the printer for easy access when a nozzle change is required.

See “Installation” below

If the nozzle is tight (after releasing the two thumb screws) support the tool against the heat block. Nozzle spanner is supplied with your unit - my preference is  a socket see https://www.printables.com/model/86951-nozzle-wrench.

How to use

WARNING: Ensure the printer is completely cooled to ambient temperature before beginning installation. Attempting to install the Nozzle Replacement Tool on a hot printer can result in serious injury due to burns.

 Installation:

  • Unload the filament from the Nextruder.
  • Make sure that the heaterblock is clean.
  • Position the hot end to X150 Y-6 Z250 ….
  • Turn the printer OFF
  • Remove the heat block sock
  • Install the Nozzle Replacement Tool onto the cross bar.
  • Gently slide the Nozzle Replacement Tool onto the heater block (fits perfectly with the lip sitting over the heat block)
  • Loosen both thumbs screws securing the hotend inside the Nextruder. Do not remove them completely. A few turns are enough.
  • Nozzle removal - you can easily release the nozzle.
  • Nozzle replacement - apply upward finger pressure on the heater block
  • Replace the nozzle
  • Install the heat block sock - installation complete

CAUTION: After replacing the nozzle, do not forget to tighten both thumb screws securing the hotend in the Nextruder as you apply gentle upward pressure to the heat block.

Any issues please let me know - Cheers
