The point of this mount is to somewhat replicate the Dreamcast's original design that has a small gap below the GDROM Drive for air to flow and cool the heatsinks that are directly below the metal shield.

This design does away with SD Card extensions, and adds a slot for a small 40mm fan.

Print settings:

  1. Standard quality print settings (0.2mm layer height)
  2. Supports everywhere will be needed
  3. A 20% infill is more than enough

Assembly instructions:

  1. Remove any excess before assembly
  2. Mount a 40mm fan to the hole. No screws are actually required, as the fan slides in the slot and it's quite snug.
  3. Mount the GDEMU to the base first, and then to the console (you will need to find suitable screws, or you can use the original ones from the original drive. More info here: https://www.thingiverse.com/thing:1585333 ). Make sure the GDEMU is flat, and the connector is correctly plugged. If not, don't force anything! This means your GDEMU is not compatible with this assembly.
  4. Mount the shroud to the Dreamcast's top case.
  5. Carefully mount the top case on the console, but take special care to see if nothing is hitting, especially not hitting any GDEMU components.
