Garmin quarter turn adapter for Hammerhead Karoo 2 or 3. The mount allows the Garmin mount to be offset slightly from the Hammerhead mount to increase the clearance between the bars and the computer. I made this after switching from a Karoo 2 to a Karoo 3 and finding that because the Karoo 3 is wider at the bottom than the 2, it would hit the stem on my bikes when rotating into place.
I've included STL for various offsets, but I've only ever printed the 5mm version. OpenSCAD file allows the offset to be adjusted along with the height and thickness of the Garmin tabs.
Unlike the original adapter, the base is flat, meaning that it doesn't clip in to the GPS as firmly - the original adapter has a bend in it to increase force on locating tab.
This part is very awkward to print. The tab on the back means that you can't print it flat without supports, and in that orientation, the layers make the Garmin tabs weak. I've had some success printing at 45°, but this makes the thin base relatively weak. Not a problem in use, but you have to be careful installing into the GPS. I'm considering a 2-part design that would allow top and bottom to be printed in strong orientations, and then glued.
As well as some home-printed PLA version, I had this printed in Nylon (SLS) by JLCPCB, which seemed promising, but failed after hitting a pothole very hard. Always use the lanyard!
The quarter turn part was original based on this design, but is heavily modified.
