Handwheel nut to replace the broken one on a Hayter mower. Perhaps of use to somebody out there.
This wheel/nut is used to lock the folding mower handle. An original (the un-broken one of a pair, shown along with the printed replacement) contains a 12.5mm diameter x 27mm knurled aluminium threaded bush M8x1.25. I designed this part to re-use the original threaded bush.
The wheel could accept any bush with a nominal 12mm diameter. The original would most probably have been 12.00 mm before knurling.
The bush was heat-set into the printed wheel with the aid of a bench drill (used as a press). Fit a long stud into the aluminium bush, locate that in the drill chuck. Heat the stud then press gently.
The part was printed in PETG.
