Mirror the original part to create both halves. The 16 is approximately 330mm in width so I spaced mine at 12 and 7/8 inch apart. The screw holes are designed for #6 drywall screws and I used four of those along with drywall anchors. Appears to be holding well so far. Other recommendations I've seen would be to attach some felt along the inner contact points with the laptop so as not to scratch or wear the polished metal surface.
