Needed a solution to organizing / storing drinking straws (drawer isn't an option for us; my wife wanted them where she keeps the insulated cups). Pulled together this straw caddy in OpenSCAD.
Customizing:
- To make wider or less wide, modify
caddy_width - To make deeper or less deep, modify
caddy_depth - To make shorter / taller, modify
caddy_height- Note: if you do alter the height, you might also need to play with the parameters that control the size of the two openings in the front, which are called “viewports” in the model. Look at
top_viewport_heightandbottom_viewport_height

Printing Notes:
- Should print well in any material. I used PETG for mine
- Should not need supports, but if you want you can paint on a support for the middle of the front arch; that requires some bridging that can produce some artifacts
Other Notes:
- The design is meant to be mounted with command strips or another adhesive. If you want to convert it to using screws or something, you'll have to remix it yourself.
