A pokeball that opens and closes. Great for a costume prop.

Printing

Print as oriented. All parts need supports. The black rings should use “organic” or “tree” supports. Everything else can use “snug” or regular supports.

Post Processing

Remove supports and dry fit everything.

Assembly

Gluing will be needed. CA Glue is recommended.

  1. Drill out the hinge holes with a 1/16" bit
  2. Connect the hinge with a piece  of  1.75mm filament
  3. Trim excess with flush cutters
  4. (optional) Apply a drop of glue to either end of the hinge to lock the "pin" in place
  5. Put the button in the button ring
  6. Place the button ring into the bottom ring and align the button with the notches
  7. Apply glue to the inside of the top ring where the button will make contact
  8. Close the top ring onto the button
  9. Apply glue to the angled section of the top black ring
  10. Align the red shell and apply light pressure to hold in place
  11. Flip over and repeat with the white shell
