Enjoy this easy to print soap dish!
Torii are Shinto gates marking the entrance to their shrines. Very pretty and iconic to Japan. There are many types of torii, not only red.
The model is displayed with a “Dove” soap bar, might want to scale the model up 10-20%. The bottom part has an angle, so the soapy water can drain through the cutout.
Instructions
The model prints in 4 parts -
- P1 x 2
- P2 x 1
- P3 x 1
The top part should print with no supports at all, may need to cut some material from the connector pins after the print though. The fit is pretty snug, so it's not an issue. The P1 parts are designed to press-fit into the base, so applying a little bit of force may be necessary.
P3 requires “Make overhangs printable” because the slicer slices them as overhangs by default for some reason. I highly recommend using the included OrcaSlicer .3mf file.
Update 26.6.25
Due to popular demand I've reworked the P3 model to be easily printable and also extended the dish to the middle of the legs so it catches soapy water better and makes the part stronger overall. Also no drain hole, everything is self contained! Just don't forget to empty it once in a while.- I've also extended P2 by 2 mm because I messed up the calculations the first time. The old part will still fit, just not perfect.
